Famous Movie Detectives III FROM THE PUBLISHER
Presents the movie careers of the world's most popular sleuths. As with the two previous volumes, author Michael Pitts treats not only the screen careers of the detectives profiled, but also other mediums in which they have been portrayed, including stage, radio, television, comics, and recordings. This book not only includes chapters on more than twenty new screen sleuths but it also updates chapters on several detectives included in Pitt's previous works. Also included in this new volume are chapters on sleuths in silent films and in serials, as well as a listing of radio and television detective programs. The detective profiles updated in this volume are those for whom additional information has surfaced or those who have had media activity since the publication of "Famous Movie Detectives II" in 1991. A comprehensive bibliography follows the alphabetically-listed detectives, and a well-constructed index allows easy access to information.
Author Biography: Michael R. Pitts has written numerous books on entertainment including "Famous Movie Detectives I & II". He is also the co-author of Scarecrow Press's "The Great Pictures Series".
