About the Author
Greg Harvey has authored tons of computer books, the most recent being Excel 2003 For Dummies and Adobe Acrobat 6 PDF For Dummies. He started out training business users on how to use IBM personal computers and their attendant computer software in the rough and tumble days of DOS, WordStar, and Lotus 1-2-3 in the mid-80s of the last century. After working for a number of independent training firms, he went on to teach semester-long courses in spreadsheet and database management software at Golden Gate University in San Francisco.
His love of teaching has translated into an equal love of writing. For Dummies books are, of course, his all-time favorites to write because they enable him to write to his favorite audience, the beginner. They also enable him to use humor (a key element to success in the training room) and, most delightful of all, to express an opinion or two about the subject matter at hand.

FROM THE CRITICS

Library Journal

As CD burners come standard on most new PCs, digital cameras and camcorders surge in popularity, and the prices of DVD burners fall, software for creating media has grown both in importance and in complexity. Roxio and Nero are two of the most popular packages, and these guides walk users through both the basic and the more complex features. Roxio ranges from an overview of various applications to acquiring, creating, editing, and burning video projects to DVD. Typical step-by-step, down-to-earth "Dummies" prose makes this useful for digital media beginners and all libraries. Nero addresses similar ground but with less background. Coverage of the basics is fairly straightforward, but those seeking to go beyond may find later parts useful in learning just what they can do with the software. Appropriate for all libraries.
