FROM OUR EDITORS

Everyone is or wants to be an entrepreneur: In the United States today, there are more than 20 million entrepreneurial businesses. But transforming a promising commercial idea into a thriving business requires more than the willingness to take the original risk. Since it was founded in 1992, the Kauffman Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership has devoted more than 1 billion dollars in resources to promote business growth. In Learning at the Speed of Growth, Kauffman Center executive-in-residence Katherine Catlin and director Dr. Jana Matthews provide a flexible tutorial on what makes businesses work. A road map to your future.

FROM THE PUBLISHER

This book provides a roadmap to growth for entrepreneurs no matter how big (or small) their business is. An exciting mix of cutting edge ideas and the real-world voices of business people.

It is the first in a series of books on business growth from the Kauffman Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership and Hungry Minds. This book is for any entrepreneur who wants his or her company to grow. Over 20 million such businesses exist in the U.S. alone. This book is also designed for is any member of the management team at an entrepreneurial company who wants to understand how his or her role needs to change as the company grows. The Kauffman Center estimates the size of this group as three times the number of companies. It is the only book that helps the founding entrepreneur understand the new leadership roles required for each stage of growth, i.e., how to be a successful leader of a growth company. The Kauffman Center's website, EntreWorld.org attracts 30,000 visitors each month. The marketing campaign will include two months of daily sponsorship announcements on NPR's Morning Edition (national radio broadcast 600 stations; public radio's top-rated show).
