City Museum 701 North 15th Street (314) 231-2489 www.citymuseum.org True to its slogan, this place really is "Unlike Any Museum You've Ever Seen Before." City Museum is the brainchild of a group of local artists who "rescued" most of the items used in the exhibits and attractions from old and historic buildings, factories and other structures that were destined for the wrecking ball. Kids can climb in, on, and through many of the exhibits, including a hollowed out tree trunk maze, and take a quick ride down the old-fashioned roller belt slide. There's even a live circus and other interactive activities that delight young and old alike, including the MonstroCity, an elaborate outdoor jungle gym, the Shoelace Factory and Art City. There's even an indoor skate park for skateboarders and in-line skaters. Snacks are for sale in Beatnik Bob's Café, and there's a collection of "antique" video and pinball games as well. City Museum definitely abides by the motto that one man's trash is another man's treasure. Museum admission is $7.50 per person, and $10 for the skate park.
