Does God Exist?: The Craig-Flew Debate - Book Reviews,
by William Lane Lane Craig
Does God Exist?: The Craig-Flew Debate SYNOPSIS Antony Flew and William Lane Craig faced off in February 1998 at the University of Wisconsin to debate the question, marking the 50th year since a similar debate between Fredrick Copleston and Bertrand Russell on BBC radio. A transcript of the debate is preceded by an introduction identifying some issues in theism and atheism to set the context. Then other American scholars of philosophy comment on the debate, addressing such topics as the explanatory power of theism, the burden of proof and presumption of theism, cosmology, the probability of the universe and the resurrection, and damnation and empiricism. Craig and Flew conclude by answering their critics. Annotation ©2004 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR
