Export Dynamics and Economic Growth in Latin America: A Comparative Perspective

In light of the new Latin trade boom, this volume explores old and new thinking about the export diversification-growth relationship in this region through case studies and a cross-country econometric comparative analysis. Such empirical evidence informs a model capturing dynamics of successes in non-traditional export expansionism (e.g. Chilean fruit, Colombian cut flowers), in turn suggesting that intra-Latin trade will increasingly resemble the integrated patterns of more developed countries.
