FROM THE CRITICS
Library Journal
In this new installment of the publisher's sourcebooks on period interior design, of which Victorian House Style (1992) and Edwardian House Style (1995) are previous examples, Cranfield provides a wealth of information aimed at the professional and student interior designer. Examples are given of British and American Georgian-style architects, exteriors, interiors, and gardens, with numerous illustrations of furnishings, decorative details, and color. A list of resources for both U.K. and U.S. suppliers rounds out the text. Henrietta Spencer-Churchill's Classic Georgian Style (LJ 1/98) is an attractive primer, but here is a historical reference book that will be useful in large interior design collections.
