Book Description
This rich collection of photographs spans 125 years, two world wars, the Great Depression, the turbulent 60s, and everything in between. More than 400 images depict the growth and changes that took the University of Kansas from a small collection of buildings on a treeless hill to the major educational center it is today. This revised, updated edition includes 44 new photographs and a new chapter to bring the University's history into the 1990s. It captures both everyday and extraordinary events--from orchestra concerts and anatomy labs to war protests and basketball championships--and provides an insightful and nostalgic journey for all whose lives were touched by the University of Kansas.
