Very few civilized human observers in modern times have actually seen unicorns in their natural habitat. That is why this unbelievable selection of photographs has special significance. After more than seven years of searching, Robert Vavra first photographed a unicorn on April 15, 1967, near Tamazunchale, Mexico. Since then he has had remarkable success finding - and capturing on film - unicorns of the forest, the mountains, the sea, the snow, and the dunes. Some of the best examples of his singular artistry are presented in this astonishing and awe-inspiring work.
