This supplement to a series covering 200 writers contains 18 authors, including Toni Cade Bambara, Frederick Barthelme, Stephen Vincent Benét, Christina García, Charlotte Perkins Gilman, James Jones, and William Stafford. Essays of approximately 20 pages, aimed at the general reader, are followed by a select bibliography of works by and about the writer.
