Each animal is presented on a single page which includes a physical description of it, what it eats, and where it is found. As a teacher this book is a gold mine for a cross curriculum approach of studying geography (find where all the animals live), math (compare size and weight of the animals) as well as the animal study connections. Sturdily bound, this is perfect for nonfiction animal collections in schools, classrooms, and public libraries. In addition to the informative text and illustrations, there are easily reproduced activities such as creating a squirrel nut-ball and a chipmunk swimming pool.
