Controversies in American Public Policy FROM THE PUBLISHER
Using articles from major journals to demonstrate competing perspectives, each chapter focuses a specific issue and the arguments for and against it. In the process, it provides a general overview of how certain types of policy questions come to dominate the public agenda. Current issues include education, entitlements, and gun control.
SYNOPSIS
Recent articles on public policy are collected here in sections on specific issues such as growth management, education, gun control, welfare reform, and affirmative action. Each chapter contains an introductory section designed to familiarize readers with the history and context of the issue, and ends with discussion questions and Web links.
