About the Author Robert Jurmain has taught at San Jose State University since 1975. He is a Professor of Anthropology, and is currently teaching Introduction to Human Evolution; Human Heredity and Evolution; Human Origins; Evolution of Human Behavior; Monkeys, Apes, and Humans (Primate Behavior); Human Osteology; and Research Methods in Physical Anthropology. He holds an A.B. in Anthropology from UCLA, and a Ph.D. in Biological Anthropology from Harvard. His areas of research interest are skeletal biology of humans and non-human primates; paleopathology; and paleoanthropology. In addition to his three textbooks, which together have appeared in 20 editions, he is author of STORIES FROM THE SKELETON: BEHAVIORAL CONSTRUCTION IN HUMAN OSTEOLOGY (1999, Gordon and Breach Publishers).
