This is one of two "splits" of the combined CRIMINAL LAW AND PROCEDURE, 4th Edition text (© 2002) by the same authors.

About the Author
John M. Scheb served as municipal judge in Sarasota, Florida, from 1957 to 1959. From 1959 to 1970, he served as City Attorney for the city of Sarasota. In 1974 he was appointed to the Florida District Court of Appeal, second district, a position he held until his retirement in 1992. As an appellate judge, Scheb authored numerous opinions on a wide range of legal issues, and he published articles in "Judicature," the "Stetson Law Review," and the "Tennessee Law Review." He is also co-author of FLORIDA APPELLATE PRACTICE and ADVOCACY, Third Edition (2003), with Raymond T. Elligett, and AN INTRODUCTION TO THE AMERICAN LEGAL SYSTEM (2002), with John M. Scheb II. Judge Scheb is now a Senior Judge for the Florida Court System and Distinguished Professorial Lecturer at Stetson University College of Law in St. Petersburg. He holds the B.A. from Florida Southern College, the J.D. from the University of Florida, and the LL.M. from the University of Virginia.
