About the Author Sylvia Rimm, PH.D., appears regularly on NBC's Today show with her series "Raising Kids in the '90s. She is director of the Family Achievement Center at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland and clinical professor of psychiatry at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. In addition to her TV appearances, she hosts a nationally broadcast radio program and writes a syndicated newspaper column on parenting. She lives in Cleveland.
