The new easy-to-read format makes identification a breeze: If the symbol on the piece is a shield, turn to the "shield" section and leaf through until you've found your mark; if the mark is a name, simply check it in the alphabetical section.
Each mark is illustrated and accompanied with all relevant information: factory, city and country of origin; material used; color of mark; date mark was used; and name of current company (which may have changed since the piece was made).
