Advances in Acoustics Technology FROM THE PUBLISHER
Over the last thirty years the European aeronautical industry has achieved a respected and internationally successful position. This EC-Aeronautics Research Series provides the opportunity to present the results of recent research projects in areas critical to the future competitiveness of the industry in world markets. It contains Technical Publications of the completed EC-Aeronautics pilot phase project work, which has been supported under Area 5 : "Specific Activities Relating to Aeronautics" of the Brite/Euram Programme within the Second Framework Programme of European Community Activities in the Field of Research and Technology Development (1989-1992). This volume presents the three projects which, under this pilot phase, carried out work in three areas of noise and acoustics technologies: exterior noise, cabin noise, and acoustics loads in relation to structural fatigue.
FROM THE CRITICS
Booknews
Reports the findings of three projects that were part of the pilot phase of a European Community research program to aid the continent's aeronautics industry. Presents technical information on active noise control in aircraft, acoustic fatigue and related damage tolerance of advanced composite and metallic structures, and helicopter and tilt-rotor aircraft exterior noise. For each, explains the research objectives, activities, results, and conclusions. Some of the photographs of experiment setups are of very poor quality. Annotation c.
