About the Author
Geronimo Stilton was born in New Mouse City, Mouse Island. He is Rattus Emeritus of Mousomorphic Literature and Neo-Ratonic Comparative Philosophy. In his spare time, Mr. Stilton collects antique cheese rinds and plays golf. But what he most enjoys is telling stories to his favorite nephew, Benjamin.

Trouble is brewing in New Mouse City, the capital of Mouse Island. All heck has broken loose because Geronimo Stilton, editor of The Rodent's Gazette, has just published the New Mouse City Yellow Pages. Mice are outraged because all the phone numbers in the Yellow Pages are mixed up. Mice are protesting outside Stilton's office. When Stilton's cousin Trap shows up, Geronimo is ready to bail. Trap suggests they leave New Mouse City for a while until things settle down. Trap has just seen a television show about a mysterious island covered in silver and he wants to search for it. Geronimo's sister and nephew have already signed on to go with him. Geronimo reluctantly agrees, and before long, the four mice find themselves battling cat pirates. Yikes! Children will cheer for these characters, the good guys, in their fight against the Black Bandit and his pirate crew. Readers will find that the text is more lively than usual in this book. It is peppered with words in different fonts and colors; for example, the words "yellow pages" are yellow. The hot air balloon that takes the four mice out to sea is "purple with yellow dots." These words have alternating purple and yellow letters. Some words are large or in bold letters for emphasis. Silly, colorful illustrations adorn each page of the book. The creative lettering and funny text will amuse young readers and keep them on their toes. The plot is a bit convoluted, but it boils down to clever mice outwitting bad pirate cats. Readers never do find out why the Yellow Pages were such a muddle.
