FROM THE CRITICS

Children's Literature - Debra Briatico

One day when Alexander explores the house, he meets a wind-up mouse named Willy. The two mice become fast friends and share exciting stories with one another. Alexander soon becomes envious of Willy's lifestyle and decides to ask the magical lizard to change him into a wind-up mouse, too. After his visit to the enchanted garden, Alex returns home only to discover that Willy's future is threatened. When Alex finds the magic pebble, he returns to the garden and asks the lizard to grant a new and better wish. In the end, both mice are foot-loose and fancy-free!
