Narrator Jonathan Davis's voice is perfect, and behind him are the first-class special effects and music that characterize most Star Wars audiobooks. Even better, the writing is also first-class—this is a descent into the heart of darkness for one of the most powerful Jedi masters, who in Stover's hands comes alive with the complexity of a spiritual and physical man.
