Book Description
It was a little-reported, but remarkable, story of heroism, courage, and disaster. The Danish struggle against the German occupation was unique: the country's administration continued intact, mostly left alone...at first. But, freedom didn't last, and prominent resistance figures were imprisoned in the Shell building in the center of Copenhagen. The RAF designed a difficult and daring raid to free them. But because of an accident, this triumph of planning ended up as a sickening and terrible tragedy.

About the Author
