Faldo: A Swing for Life

ANNOTATION

The magic of Nick Faldo's name combined with the legacy of his mentor David Leadbetter makes a claim for Faldo as an instant classic. With more than 200 color illustrations throughout, this comprehensive guide includes every aspect of golf--the swing, long game, iron play and more.

FROM THE PUBLISHER

Nick Faldo is recognized as one of the world's most complete golfers. For many years he has analyzed his game in search of the perfect swing, his patience and dedication matched only by the legendary Ben Hogan. In this extensive book, Faldo shares his wealth of experience and demonstrates the skills of the game. Faldo explains the principles behind his flowing, consistent swing - a swing to apply to every club in the bag. He emphasizes the value of rhythm, discusses driving strategy, short-game technique, bunker play and the art of putting. Supporting these principles are superb photographs and specially commissioned artwork.

SYNOPSIS

For experienced golfers and novices alike, one of golf's prolific winners explains the principles behind his flowing, consistent swing.

FROM THE CRITICS

Publishers Weekly

Arguably Britain's top golfer, Faldo has won his country's Open twice and the U.S. Masters twice and has been one of the stalwarts of the European Ryder Cup team, whose annual battle with the U.S. is obviously a special challenge to him. In his autobiography, written with TV golf commentator Critchley, he concentrates on the way he completely reconstructed his swing in the 1980s, aided by coach David Leadbetter. Dedicated to practice, Faldo is concerned only that workouts give him less time for his family, motorcycling, helicopter piloting and his growing business interests. As related here, however, his life makes a bland story; of note, though, are Cannon's 150 color photos showing the photogenic Faldo on courses all over the world, from Dubai to Melbourne to Malm.
