FROM THE CRITICS
Publishers Weekly
Arguably Britain's top golfer, Faldo has won his country's Open twice and the U.S. Masters twice and has been one of the stalwarts of the European Ryder Cup team, whose annual battle with the U.S. is obviously a special challenge to him. In his autobiography, written with TV golf commentator Critchley, he concentrates on the way he completely reconstructed his swing in the 1980s, aided by coach David Leadbetter. Dedicated to practice, Faldo is concerned only that workouts give him less time for his family, motorcycling, helicopter piloting and his growing business interests. As related here, however, his life makes a bland story; of note, though, are Cannon's 150 color photos showing the photogenic Faldo on courses all over the world, from Dubai to Melbourne to Malm.
