Alien Agenda
- Book Review,
by Jim Marrs

Amazon.com
Alien Agenda is the silk thread leading the way through the maze of UFO literature into the heart of the UFO controversy. While he begins with the premise that the existence of UFOs cannot be denied, Jim Marrs (author of Crossfire, the mother of all John F. Kennedy assassination conspiracy books) boldly strides into the battle over what UFOs are and why they are here. Marrs's investigative skills are invaluable in this re-examination of questions that have been overlooked, unaddressed, or unsatisfactorily resolved.

From Booklist
Jim Marrs is best known for Crossfire: The Plot That Killed Kennedy (1989), the book that Oliver Stone's film JFK was partially based on. Now Marrs attacks new mysteries and conspiracies in this extensive review of UFO history and government cover-ups. After describing his own UFO sighting near Jackson, Mississippi, in 1952, Marrs recounts his involvement with other UFO cases as a newspaper reporter and his suspicions that the U.S. government knows much more about aliens than it will admit. As his title indicates, the author has concluded that UFOs are piloted by extraterrestrials of various types and with diverse motives. However, rather than taking that conclusion for granted, Marrs guides his readers through 50 years of UFO history that includes some less-traveled byways, off-ramps, and dead ends. He incorporates an ample amount of information from UFO books of the 1960s and 1970s--strange lights on the moon, the ancient-astronaut theories of Erich von Daniken, cattle mutilations, Nazi saucers at the South Pole, the contactees of the 1950s--and updates it credibly with UFO data from the 1980s and 1990s, providing a reasonable survey of abductions, secret underground UFO bases, the MJ-12 group, crop circles, remote viewing, and channeling. How can something as momentous as contact with aliens be kept secret? In an appendix, Marrs refers to the Bilderbergers and the Council on Foreign Relations as examples of how small groups of powerful individuals can withhold information and manipulate world events. The facts are mostly accurate, and the writing is crisp and journalistic. George Eberhart

Alien Agenda

FROM THE PUBLISHER

Jim Marrs turns his award-winning investigative talents to the enigmas surrounding extraterrestrial life. In Alien Agenda, he offers a comprehensive, shocking explanation that not only confirms the reality of UFOs, but reveals the decades-long disinformation campaign that has kept the truth from us until now. From crop circles to cattle mutilations, from "ancient astronauts" to the Apollo astronauts' reports, from government subterfuge to the compelling evidence provided by army-trained "remote viewers," Alien Agenda synthesizes old findings and new discoveries into an authoritative analysis of how and why aliens manifest themselves in our midst. Marrs consults experts on all sides of UFO-related issues, draws on reams of hitherto hidden government files, and taps sources deep within military intelligence's most secret operations. He also combs the enormous mass of published material on extraterrestrial phenomena, evaluating both recent research and old evidence in light of fresh facts. The result of this monumental undertaking is no less than the last word on the subject - proof that the earth has been visited extensively by alien life-forms and indisputable evidence that several federal agencies have been aware of this contact since the late forties and have conspired to keep it secret. Finally, Marrs offers compelling speculation on why aliens are coming here and why our government doesn't want us to know it.
