After trying various diets with no success, Lynn developed her own eating plan based on a bodybuilder's slogan: "eat more, eat clean," i.e., no wheat or refined sugar, very little dairy, and five meals a day. (Lynn does not have a nutrition background, but she is a proponent of the theory that eating several smaller meals means one's body burns more calories during digestion.) Once the diet was successful for her, she began cooking it for others and then founded 5 Squares, a food-delivery service. She here includes 100 recipes, along with advice for following the "makeover plan" and success stories from some of her clients. Those who do not have their meals delivered may find following the plan rather daunting: a typical day's sample menu involves preparing Blueberry Waffles and bacon for breakfast, Barbecued Chicken for the 10:30 "square," Stuffed Eggplant with Mashed Sweet Potatoes for lunch, Chicken Barley Soup for the 4:30 "square," and Almond-Crusted Flounder with Spicy String Beans for dinner (recipes do not include make-ahead info).
